Privacy Policy

This policy describes what Volition collects, why, and where it goes. The short version: we store your account and training data so the app works, we don't sell it, we don't run ads or third-party analytics, and nothing goes to an AI assistant unless you connect one.

What we collect

Account information — your email address and name, from Google Sign-In or email signup, plus account settings and preferences (such as coaching style and contact consent). Passwords are stored only as salted cryptographic hashes.
Training data — your plans, schedules, logged workouts, effort scores, per-set and session notes, goals and methodology, coach journal, charts, and any other content you create in the app.
Form-check frames — if you use the form-check feature, still frames extracted from your video are stored temporarily (each upload replaces the previous one). The video itself never leaves your device.
Feedback and communications — feedback you submit in the app or through your AI assistant, and emails you send us.
Usage and diagnostics — we may collect information about how the Service is used (features used, actions taken, timing), your device and browser type, approximate region, and error/diagnostic logs, to improve the product and keep it reliable.
Connection metadata — which AI assistant(s) you have connected, so the app can route its buttons correctly.
Payment information — the Service is currently free. If paid plans are introduced, payments will be handled by a payment processor; we will not store your card details.
Cookies and local storage — a session cookie keeps you signed in, and your browser caches your training data so the app works offline. We use no advertising trackers or third-party analytics.

Where it lives

Data is stored on Google Cloud Platform (Firestore, United States). A copy of your training data is also cached in your own browser so the app works offline.

Your AI assistant

If you connect an AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, or another), then when you use coaching features, your training data is shared with that assistant — it can read your plan, history, notes, and form-check frames through the connector you authorize, and conversations happen inside that assistant under its provider's privacy policy. Prompts the app prefills for you (coach buttons, feedback triage, form checks) are sent by you and visible to your assistant's provider — review them before sending. You can revoke a connector at any time from your assistant's settings. If you never connect an assistant, no data is shared with any AI provider.

Service providers

Google Cloud — hosting and data storage.
Google Sign-In — authentication, if you choose it.
Resend — sending verification and sign-in emails.
Cloudflare — domain and inbound email routing.

We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it to train AI models.

Email

We send transactional email (verification, sign-in links). We will only email you about product updates or ask for feedback if you opted in — you can withdraw that consent any time by replying or emailing support@volitiontrainer.com.

Your rights

Export — download everything as a single file from Settings, any time.
Deletion — email support@volitiontrainer.com and we will delete your account and data.
Access & correction — the app shows and lets you edit everything we store about your training.

Children

Volition is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll announce it in the app or by email.
